I have remade this patch using the clean, DRM-free GOG version executables, if anyone wishes to play at higher frame-rates without DRM data, here is the patch: http://www.mediafire.com/file/9307hi3nkyhrdke/FPS_Fixes.7z/file Also, to the uploader, if you could update your upload with these files it would be very appreciated to me.

This is an hex-edited executable for the Steam version of Dungeon Siege 2. It should fix the missing cursor when playing fullscreen on Windows 10 v1703 or later. The only downside is that it creates a bug when playing in windowed mode where the camera rotates way too fast when using middle-click (see https://steamcommunity.com/app/39200/discussions/0/1643164649220168122). Just use the Steam executable if you wish to play in windowed mode. Credits to Killah for originally making this fix for the Broken World expansion

This have been on the backburner for a while. I usually just tell users to use /row/developer with an appropriate second parameter instead: {{Infobox game/row/developer|My Famous Game Studio|Microsoft Store}} The porter row is currently tied to what PCGW sees as OSes, and trying to fit in /platform “ports”/ on that row is probably going to be a headache. It also isn’t as relevant information since the work done is typically far less minor (usually just involves replacing one library for another, or hooking up calls to replacement calls, etc). I recommend we simply formalize the use of the developer row in the few cases where another studio worked on one of the platform releases.

Thank you Rose! It worked perfectly. Really appreciate you creating this and making it available to the community! Edit: I should add that I'm using it for 3440x1440 and there's not screen cutoff that I can tell. Everything appears to be scaled perfectly.

This tiny patch will unlock the 21:9 aspect ratio in the game menu, allowing to select ultrawide and many other resolutions under "???" for extra FOV. Paste it over the original file in \OuterWilds_Data\ found in the game folder.

Metro: Exodus is now available on Microsoft Store - a surprise given all the hoo-ha about Epic Games Store vs Steam exclusivity.

    E3 2019 Megathread

Microsoft is running the MixPot promotion again: watch the Xbox E3 stream on Mixer (from the Mixer Xbox channel or through the app) and sign in with a Microsoft account to get free games/DLC. See the Xbox MixPot FAQ for details. Last time it was only games/DLC for consoles, but since they will be talking about the PC this time there might be some PC goodies.

The case of Chaosbane is confusing because there were reports by people buying the standard edition and playing it on the 31st. In general, I don't think it's of much value to have a separate field for games that have this type of pre-order early access. Even if we do implement it, unless we name it "pre-order release date" or something as clear, we'd still need notes on how the date is tied to pre-orders only, and this need for extra notes means we might as well just keep delivering this information through notes only. I don't think it's that common to offer early access as part of pre-orders but you can correct me if I'm wrong.

There are more specific date possibilities too - e.g. Chaosbane which was available 4 days earlier as a pre-order bonus. I'd arguably say that the 31st May 2019 was the true release date (even reflects this on Steam) even though the 'official' date was 4 days later. Perhaps this could be 'Date first available' @Rose I'd say 'Date first available' means the 1st day you could pay money for the 'full' game.

Proposal to remove wikis from General information and the Editing guide. Wikis were included because generally speaking there was 'the one' wiki everyone used. However with the advent of massive wikifarms, a single game could have several wikis associated with it. Problems: Inconsistencies with 'community wiki' / 'official wiki' terminology - meaningless as all wikis are community wikis Wikis don't offer technical information If a wiki contains a good technical page, this could be linked to separately Proposed solution: Remove any game wikis from General information Time limit: 7 days (14th June 2019)

In terms of linking to other game websites - my preference for the health of PCGamingWiki project, is to have mutual linking with other sites. This has immense SEO benefits. For example we have a system for WSGF-PCGamingWiki article links, and also SteamDB and IsThereAnyDeal etc. MobyGames seems like a good place to link to - but before we do anything I'd like to get in touch with the admin and see if there's anything we can do as a partnership. Does anyone have the contact details for the current admin? Best to get in touch via.. Discord, or Twitter?

The Music Volume mod doesn't work if you use the JP VO as is. To make it work, you hafta edit the .bat file and remove all mentions of "/usa". Big copypasta derp right there 😛

This fixes the following issues with Gothic and Gothic II on Windows 8 and later: Window border visible in fullscreen mode Low frame rate in fullscreen mode Extract anywhere and run install.bat to apply these fixes. Any previous versions are automatically replaced if present. This works by applying the following compatibility fixes to Gothic.exe, Gothic2.exe and GothicMod.exe: ForceSimpleWindow (hides window border) DXPrimaryEmulation -DisableMaxWindowedMode (fixes frame rate isssues) This fix does not remove Gothic's default frame rate cap; refer to its page for a separate fix for that issue. This fix will also work with Gothic Multiplayer (other mods that change the executable might not be affected).

    Metro Exodus, the UWP variant.

While I was enjoying the E3 content yesterday, I happened to notice that the once Epic Games Store exclusive Metro Exodus has switched to being not so exclusive anymore. While the game still isn't on Steam and it changing from being an exclusive to one bad platform, to being available on two almost equally bad platforms (these are all my opinions by the way) wasn't really the change I was hoping to see, I thought I would give it a chance, since it was going to be available for a mere 1€ investment. (plus the added agony of updating windows, that never goes smoothly without anything breaking, does it?) Well I just booted it up for the first time and it wasn't pretty. The game has been "ported" to the vilified UWP platform and as far as I can see, the game does NOT handle that very well. I haven't gotten past the main menu yet, but from what I have seen I don't think that I really have to. The game just outright refuses to save any graphics options that I change in the menus. Resolution, DirectX mode, everything remains unchanged no matter what you do. I located the supposed config files too, but they were encrypted and cannot be edited in Notepad++ (location is AppData\Local\Packages\DeepSilver.ProjectWindfall, if you want to have a look) so there pretty much is nothing that I can do at this point to even change the resolution from the abysmal default of 1280x720. Also you can't access the install folder unless you take over the ownership. Microsoft still thinks it's smart to lock users out of their own computers, so I guess that's just insult to injury at this point. So yeah all in all it's a huge dumpster fire at this point. I can only guess why the game is broken, but as I previously said I think it's cause of the switch to UWP and the config files not being where they are in the EGS version Edit: Went into some guy's twitch stream and asked how he got the resolution to change. He said alt+tab in and out and it should work. And it did, at least for me but yeah it's still kinda whack.

I've got a new issue to report. The graphics seem bugged/broken upon launch. I have to edit the video settings, any settings, and it fixes. I initially discovered this to get HDR working properly, but I had the same exact problem even when I disabled HDR at the system level. Everything is blurry and the gamma is too low. When I look at the menu, everything seems to be correct; it's just too dim and blurry but unchecking and renabling HDR seems to make it work. I just wish this wasn't so stupid. I would also like to add that I encountered the "could not save" issue along with the "could not log into xbox live" issue. The first was resolved by simply closing and re-starting the game a couple time. The latter was fixed by enabling windows firewall and allowing all settings to default. You can test your xbox live connectivity in the xbox portion of the windows setting menu. For those who can't install, I'd triple check you're on 1903 with all the latest updates.
