Final Fantasy XIII-2 Mega Patch collection

About This File

This is a collection of important mods and fixes for Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Placed in one place file for convenience.

This contains the following:

Console Content Patch:

This restores and unlocks all DLC normally unavailable in-game due to copyright and licensing issues.

Make sure to apply this before any other patches

Follow the instructions in Readme.txt to install.

Note that as this is a patch, it will be removed when Steam verifies or updates the modified files.

Leviathan's Tears Mod:

The PC version's rain has broken translucency.

This replaces it with parameters for a higher resolution version of the original PS3's rain textures.

Controller button prompts:

The game uses Xbox button prompts without differentiating colors.

Playstation button prompts:

Replaces the default controller prompts with shaped prompts emulating the PS3 version.

Xbox button prompts:

Replaces the default controller prompts with colored prompts emulating the Xbox 360 version.

Music volume modifications:

The game has low unadjustable audio volume with most music set to 60%-70% volume.

Double volume music:

Replaces music with those with a volume of 100%.

Half volume music:

Replaces music with those with a volume of 50%.

Disable music:

Replaces music with those with a volume of 0%.

The Music Volume mod doesn't work if you use the JP VO as is.

To make it work, you hafta edit the .bat file and remove all mentions of "/usa".  Big copypasta derp right there 😛

Download the archive and unpack it with software like PeaZip or 7zip.
Use the included tool to patch \FadeToSilence\Binaries\FadeToSilence-Win64-Shipping.exe within the game folder.
This will adjust the vertical FOV to match 16:9 and remove the pillarboxing from the menu screens and cutscenes.
Tested with the latest GOG version at 2560x1080 and 3840x1080.
Let me know if dialogue screens require fixing and post your save file from right before one starts to make it easier for me to trigger it.

The tool previously allowed to change field of view, but as of the May 12, 2020 game update, there is an FOV slider in the game.
The remaining functionality is removing black bars from the cutscenes at 32:9 and wider resolutions.
Simply unpack the archive and use the small patcher to target the ZA4_dx12 and/or ZA4_vulkan executable in the game folder depending on your preferred graphics API. Be mindful of the large file size of the executables which will be backed up and take up space if left untouched. Tested the latest EGS Vulkan and DX12 game versions at 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.
