Terminator: Resistance FOV changer & 16:9 letterbox remover 2.0.1

8 Screenshots

About This File

The mod previously removed pillarboxing from the gameplay and menu, letterboxing from the cutscenes and adjusted FOV at 21:9 and wider resolutions.
As of update 1.028a, the game only needs FOV adjustment to compensate for the reduced vertical FOV at the cutscenes at 21:9 and wider.

The tool allows for real-time FOV adjustment affecting both the cutscenes and the gameplay.

As any trainer based on CE components, it may trigger some anti-virus software.

  1. Use software like 7zip or PeaZip to unpack the archive. The password is pcgw
  2. Launch the game first, followed by the tool.
  3. Enable custom FOV adjustment and tweak FOV to preference.

Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. The game copy was generously funded by AlRayes of Ultrawide Benchmarks.

Released

Removed the patchers previously used to achieve perfect ultrawide support with no FOV loss at all scenes at 21:9, 32:9 and 48:9, as the game got updated to remove black bars and receive hor+ support at gameplay.

Created an FOV changer instead.

Added a patcher for letterboxing removal at 16:9.

In my experience (I used almost all mods from Rose) there was never a trojan or virus in it! The virus scanner often allerts when the file was too new.

Dude, it doesn't just randomly report a trojan, if that's the case then why did it nor report the other 2?

Hi, I tried using the letterbox remover for the 16:9 version (1.028a) and it keeps saying it was not patched. Am I missing something? There is no readme in the zip.

I tried to remove the letter boxes from the game with your patch and it said it was not patched, I followed the instructions correctly. Does it not work anymore? Thanks making the mod.

With the latest update a FOV slider was added in options but it doesnt affect cutscenes, so this is still superior

hi

wont work for me, it says the EXE file was not patched \=

Hi. I addressed it in a recent comment here. As much as I would like to, the wiki rules do not allow me to provide step-by-step instructions for unpacking the exe.

I used the letterbox remover and it said it was patched successfully. Yet, I still have the damn letterbox on the sides. Resolution already set to 2560x1080 in the gameusersettings.ini. Tried using Steamless but keep getting "failed to unpack file". I did it on the patched and original Terminator-Win64-Shipping exe.

Letterboxing refers to horizontal black bars, based on the shape of a letter box.

The tools included here no longer address the pillarboxing (vertical or side black bars), as the latest game updates introduced 21:9 support and took care of those. Try switching between the available resolutions and window modes after verifying your game files.

      These solutions for 2560x1080, 3440x1440, 32:9, 5:4 and 16:10 resolutions will remove black bars from the game. Pre-rendered cutscenes, subtitles and some of the UI elements will be stretched.
      Unpack the applicable archive with software like 7zip - the password is pcgw if required.
      If using the trainer, make sure the game is launched before it. After applying the fixes with the hotkeys, change the display mode to fullscreen or borderless and apply. If using the patcher with the Steam version, unpack the game executable with Steamless first, rename it back, then patch. Tested the latest EGS and Steam versions mainly at 2560x1080, 3440x1440 and 3840x1080.

      Made my own patch for Spongebob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated for those who are playing in ultrawide and prefer not to have an active FOV trainer in the background while playing the game. This is mostly suited for 32:9 - if you use a lower aspect ratio the FOV might be exaggurated. Rose's trainer is a much better option overall but if you don't want to run a trainer in the background this could be something for you. The implementation isn't perfect however, and it doesn't remove the black bars during cutscenes.
      There are four different versions.
      90 FOV 80 FOV 70 FOV 60 FOV Extract the archive, run the patcher and locate Pineapple-Win64-Shipping.exe then click 'Start' on the patcher.

      Made my own patch for Visage as there's very little information on how to get this game to work in the field of view you want. The game's zoomed in for 32:9 users without any edits or with the use of the Universal Unreal Engine Unlocker.
      This patch resolves that issue entirely. There's no need to use 'UUEU' to get the game to run at a higher field of view.
      There are four different versions.
      90 FOV 80 FOV 70 FOV 60 FOV You still need to implement your own custom 32:9 / 21:9 resolution and you can do so by following this:
      Follow this path: AppData\Local\Visage\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor ( Access appdata by typing in %appdata% in your windows search bar )
      and you'll end up seeing a file called 'GameUserSettings.ini which you need to open with notepad or equivalent.

      You'll have two values you need to change.
      ResolutionSizeX=xxxx
      ResolutionSizeY=xxxx

      Change those two values to your own custom resolution, mine is set like this:

      ResolutionSizeX=5120
      ResolutionSizeY=1440

      Hit 'Save' and make it a 'read-only' file by right-clicking the file and going into the properies and checking the 'read-only' checkerbox. If you don't then any video settings you change in the game will reset the resolution and you'll have to redo this step.
      Run the patcher after you've edited your custom resolution.
