About This File

The mod has been been removing pillarboxing affecting gameplay, cutscenes and menu since game launch and up to October 29, 2019.

After update 1.40, it is no longer required but still removes all pillarboxing from the menu and fixes the stretching issue caused by FidelityFX CAS.

Download the archive and use the password pcgw to unpack it with software like PeaZip or 7-Zip.

Launch the tool and target \en_us\client\bin\pc\wwzRetailEgs.exe in the main folder.

The solution is essentially approved by the developers that said it won't be bannable, then pinned the message on their official Discord.

That's one of the 69 AV engines, and it's obviously wrong. You're free to test it in a sandbox. It's a hack so its behavior naturally triggers some AV.

You can also go for Option 1.

Again, it is essentially a hack tool and it's a new file so it triggers some AV, same as my FOV changer for The Sinking City and many other patchers / mods / trainers on WSGF and elsewhere.

You can think I'm running a botnet from the thousands of downloads by now but you can also create a completely isolated sandbox environment and patch the file within it, or simply use the modified exe that should not trigger any AV.

      The tool removes black bars from the game at ultrawide and wider resolutions.
      Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip using the password pcgw Launch the game, followed by the tool. Press the shown hotkey to toggle the fix on and off in real time.
        Some menu UI scaling and cropping issues are to be expected. For example, some customization decals may be out of view unless the fix is toggled off. All trainers containing CE components may trigger some anti-virus software. Tested the latest GOG version in borderless briefly at 2560x1080, 5760x1080 and 11520x1080. Dialogue choice options were out of view at the latter, though the gameplay was fine.

      The FOV tool attempts to automatically correct the field of view of the cutscenes at 21:9 and wider and allows for real-time FOV adjustment affecting all scenes at any resolution.
      As any trainer based on CE components, it may trigger some anti-virus software.
      Use software like 7zip or PeaZip to unpack the archive. The password is pcgw Launch the game first, followed by the tool. Press the hotkeys as instructed. The letterbox remover tool is a patcher, which may require the use of Steamless as a prerequisite on Steam.
      Tested the latest Steam version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080. The game copy was generously funded by AlRayes of Ultrawide Benchmarks.

      The solutions for Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden allow to correct the field of view at 21:9 and wider or manipulate it at any resolution in real time.

      Option 1 (new): A trainer for perfect FOV correction at every scene and FOV manipulation in real time.
      Download the archive and unpack it with software like PeaZip using the password pcgw Launch the game, followed by the tool. Press the hotkeys as instructed to enable or disable the fixes in real time. Option 2 (old): Patchers for 21:9 and 32:9 for gameplay FOV parity with 16:9.
      Unpack the archive, then use the tool to patch \ZoneUE4\Binaries\Win64\ZoneUE4-Win64-Shipping.exe in the main game folder. On Steam, use Steamless to unpack the exe before patching. Tested with the latest Epic Games Store version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.

      The tool removes the black bars seen at ultrawide and wider resolutions and allows to control the field of view at any resolution in real time.
      Compared to the Shenmue Dojo solution, it does not affect the visibility of the journal and does not result in vertical FOV differences compared to 16:9.
      Unpack the archive with software like 7zip or PeaZip - the password is pcgw Launch the game and make sure the window mode is set to Borderless (or set FullscreenMode=0 and ResolutionSize in GameUserSettings for fullscreen) Launch the tool Press the hotkeys as desired The pre-rendered videos, menu screens and HUD will not scale to the screen width.

      Tested the latest Epic version at 2560x1080, 3840x1080 and 5760x1080.
