We don't pay per GB, so bandwidth use isn't really a concern for us.

Do you think that uploading massive files (several gigabytes) should be avoided to save bandwidth?

SH2 FMVs? Sorry, I didn't notice your message.

Is SHA-256 secure enough?

We are not fighting hackers, even crc-16 would probably be good enough.

I start to think they should be avoided because download seems to time out after, say, 50-55 minutes.

I don't have any issues with downloading, but there may be far more severe file integrity problems.

Hashes don't match. I downloaded my SH2 video pack (2,6 GB) and compared:

MD5: 8C6DDE527DC6AD9B4F7B1331299884A4
SHA-1: FFCF841C4FF9E69D203757C0990D8CC7E603476C
SHA-256: F7DCEC74AF0D4661258A113029A6554CE448B9E949442B5C7163962382BE3F0F
SHA-512: EA2F3CEAEF859D07724F35E7B06BC54B7F564D793C947D84A741FCD95998B6D686F53AD69CF4B7A560840FD8F38E0F6C37223F573F855F2FC9CB67BD1A60C4AC

downloaded file from PCGW:

MD5: AED7D49F22D8198EBE02D17D735850DE
SHA-512: 5FEEEDCCEDDD78921C771384ED1C22CFEC2ED71C5C67F2A07FFA1DB5EFD026BFC3699179363FCD50F94B79DC63FA65ED27EF727088E1C47BCE26364D19203508

I'm waiting for others to confirm. I'm extremely sorry that I didn't confirm hashes for my uploaded files.

EDIT: This 3.5 GB archive is fine, after testing once: http://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/835-condemned-criminal-origins-missing-sounds-fix-steam/

But did the download actually end at the 2.6GB mark, or earlier?

It did, size is 2,57 GB (2 764 882 702 bytes) whereas the original file is 2,57 GB (2 764 879 487 bytes) (Windows explorer, size).
