TrackMania Sunrise not launching

I've had a nostalgia rush and wanted to play TrackMania Sunrise. However, it's has not been launching at all on my machine. I'm not the only person having this issue. A lot of people have reported compatibility issues with TMS on modern versions of Windows. I've tried both solutions listed here: http://www.tm-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=24517 But nothing works. Can someone help me out?

 

System Specs:

CPU - Intel i7 4790k 4.0 GHz

RAM- Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB

GPU- EVGA GeForce GTX 970 Superclocked,ACX 2.0 4G GDDR5

OS - Windows 10 Pro

You know, it wouldn't be bad if you could mention your computer in the first place.
 
Albeit, I'm reading TrackMania uses StarForce (3.6 ideally). Which according to my memo, can work (with driver updates) only up to W7 (I really wonder what's the problem though with newer Windows versions)
You should at least check last game patch (this?) and see if that mightn't update DRM version too.

I'm not sure if this is exactly true, but I've heard that older games are easier to run in Wine than on modern versions of Windows. If you have a Linux/OS X installation lying around might be worth a try, easier than purchasing and installing older Windows OS.

Firstly, I do apologize for not posting my system specs in advance. I've updated my post to include them.

Secondly, I've checked out the patch, but even with that and what's listed below, it still didn't work.

Thirdly, a no-CD patch was made by f0xn. I'll link it here: http://users.skynet.be/vierkantduwertje ... X-f0xn.rar But, it didn't work for me. If anyone wants to try it, be my guest.

Lastly, I do own United on Steam, but it's just not the same feeling. Damn you StarForce, burn in hell.

.. Perhaps I haven't been clear enough, but it should indeed at least work on Windows 7 after driver update.

 

Besides, this is the wine bug report.

EDIT: support improved just months ago. Somebody should try it with latest staging perhaps.

TrackMania Sunrise can run on Windows 7 x64 Professional if the game is updated and cracked. I haven't got the game to work without cracking the game 🙁

Any old version of StarForce (not sure what versions specifically) are blocked on Windows 10 v1809 and later. Again, I don't know what version of Windows specifically blocks old StarForce versions (haven't tested it). Windows is prevented from booting at all unless driver enforcement or other security measures are disabled. I am not sure if you can even work around it.

TrackMania, TrackMania Original, TrackMania Nations and TrackMania United are all affected.

Same for the original Trackmania, which is also fixed:https://www.myabandonware.com/game/trackmania-gcf. We need versions for Nations and United without StarForce.
